What are the horcruxes in this story?

1) Diary of Tom Riddle: Destroyed by Harry Potter with a Balisk fang in book 2.

2)The ring of Marvolo: Destroyed by Albus Dumbledore with the sword of Goddoric Gryffindore, but not before he was fatal wounded by attempting to use the ring. It is given to Harry by Dumbledore hidden inside the golden snitch. It also happens to be the second of the Deathly Hallows.

3)The Locket: Stonlen by Regulas Arcturus Black and given to Kreacher to destroy. Stolen from Kreacher by Mundungus Fletcher. Stolen from Mundungus Fletcher by Dolores Umbridge. Stolen from Dolores Umbridge by Harry Potter and Hermione Granger, and destroyed by Ron Weasly with the sword of Goddoric Gryffindore.

4)The cup of Helga Hufflepuff: Hidden in the Lestrange vault by Bellatrix Lestrange. Stolen from Gringots by Harry Potter. Destroyed by Hermione with a Balisk fang from the chamber of secrets.

5)The Diadim of Rowena Ravenclaw: Hidden in the room of requirement. Destroyed by Crabbe's Fiendfyre (accidentally, which happens to kill Crabbe too).

6)Nagini, the snake: Beheaded by Neville Longbottom with the sword of Godoric Gryffindor, pulled from the sorting hat after Voldemort summons that hat onto Nelville's head and sets in on fire as an example.

7)Harry Potter: Destroyed unwittingly by Voldemort with the Avada Kedrava curse when he "kills" Harry Potter.

So, did Voldy actually make 7 Horcruxes (counting the diary)?

Unknown said...

Yes, he makes Harry a Horcrux without knowing though.

Ezra Adams said...

Voldemort is also a Horcrux - he inadvertently makes himself a Horcrux for Harry when he uses Harry's blood to restore his own body.

I don't buy the way the Diadim is destroied. All along the book, it's written that an object og great magical power is needed in order to destroy an Horcrux, like the sword of Gryfindor or the Basilisk's Fang. And then the diadim is destroyed, ACCIDEnTALLY, by CRABBE? by a spell of CRABBE?
C'mon. That's disappointing.

FYI in #3 there's a typo. The first "Stolen" is spelled wrong.

The Diadem is destroyed so easily because, when voldemort hid it in the room of requirement, he believed he was the only one to know of the room. So he did not put any curses or protection on it, like he did with the other horcruxes. That is why it was destroyed so easily.

The Diadem is destroyed so easily because of the type of fire that Crabbe created. It was cursed fire, Fiendfyre, which is one of the few ways in which to destroy a horcrux.

I do not quite understand How can The ring of Marvolo be destroyed then Dumbledore give it to harry inside the golden snitch,is it destroyed or not ?

because if it isnt destroyed then one of the the horcruxes isnt and Voldemort cant die
But then again if it is destroyed so how will harry defeat Voldemort after losing one of the Deathly Hallows ?

Would someone clarify the picture for me , PLEASE .

The horcux inside of the ring is destroyed, not the actualy ring.

Does harry need all the deathly hallows to destroy voldemort and what happens with dumbledores elder wand (which is a deathly hallow) when voldemort steals it from dumbledores tomb?

Irish Meghan said...

The elder wand Voldemort steals from Dumbledore isn't the true Elder Wand anymore as the 'power of the wand' goes to the one who wins the duel - that usually means that person gets their wand.

In Half Blood Prince, Dumbledore refuses to fight Draco who uses the 'expelliamus" on Dumbledore. Tech Draco's wand then becomes The Elder Wand. When taken to the Malfoy's Harry duels and wins against Draco as well as taking Draco's wand. Making the HARRY uses THE ELDER WAND.

That is the Resurrection Stone in the snitch, not the ring.

the diadem was not destroyed by the fire. it is destroyed by the basalisk fang that ron and hermoine retrieve from the chamber of secrets. harry stabs the diadem with it after they escape from the room of requirement.

To clarify, there are actually 8 horcruxes.

Voldemort is indeed technically a horcrux because he has to have a piece of his soul in his own body.

Besides that, there's:

1- Tom Riddle's diary
2- The locket
3- The ring
4- The cup
5- The diadem
6- Nagini

Harry Potter is also accidentally made into a horcrux when Voldemort's spell rebounds and his lifeforce clings to the nearest living thing, being Harry.

That makes 8 horcruxes, 7 if you don't count Voldemort himself.

Voldemort says he wishes to split his soul into 7, him not expecting to make Harry a horcrux, when we hear a bit of history about him. He intends to put his soul into 6 objects, which means his soul is split into 7 because he must have soul in himself.

Actually Tiffany you have obviously only seen the movie because in the book it is indeed destroyed by the fire.

Same to Sparo McKloud it is the ring in the book but it was the stone in the movie. they are small changes but important.

Jamie Baird said...

The stone was in Marvalo's ring witch was a horcrux but only destroyed the horcrux not all the ring so Albus wears it to see his Mum, Dad and sister but gets seriously injured so asked Snape to kill him to get loyalty from Voldemort but everybody thinks he killed Albus for no reason but when Voldemort takes over the ministry Snape becomes headmaster at Hogwarts and puts the fake sword of gryffindor in the Lestrange vault while the real one is behned Albus's portrait but when Albus was alive he put the stone in Harry's first snitch (the stone was in the ring)

pls can anybody tell me why r these ho cruxes are been destroyed only by the sward and the teeth of the snake

The diadem is not destroyed by fire. It is destroyed by a stab of the basilisk fang. After it has been stabbed by the fang it is tossed back into the fire. It is not destroyed easily, it I destroyed by basilisk venom, just like the others

Unknown said...

The diadem is actually destroyed by a stab from a basilisk fang, before it is thrown into the fire created by crabbe. It is not destroyed easily, it is destroyed using basilisk venom like all the others.

Bahahahaha !! Voldy :D
Actually he made 8 including Harry , but that was never meant to be made

First of all, Dumbledore didn't put the ring in the snitch, he put the resurrection stone in the snitch. Dumbledore destroyed the ring.
Second, Harry didn't defeat voldemort because he had the deathly hallows. He defeated him because all if the horcruxes were gone, and he was more powerful than voldemort.

iloveyoubutdoyouloveme said...

The elder wand wasn't voldemorts even after he killed Snape. It was never snapes. It was dracos. Then Harry disarmed Draco, so the wand became his. That's why voldemort didn't kill Harry. Harry broke the elder wand.
